How we use cookies and browser storage

Kanela Maritime uses a small amount of browser storage to remember the privacy choice you make on this site. This preference is stored in your browser's local storage; it is not a cookie and is not used to track you.

When enabled for this Vercel project, Vercel Web Analytics provides aggregated site-traffic statistics. Vercel says this feature does not use third-party cookies; it uses a short-lived hash derived from the request rather than a persistent cross-site identifier, and discards visitor session data after 24 hours. It can record page views, page URLs, referrers, and coarse device, browser and location information.

We use Google Analytics 4 with measurement ID G-JCE8CHFMZ7 and Advanced Consent Mode v2. The Google tag loads on each page. Until you allow Google Analytics storage, analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization remain denied. While storage is denied, Google may receive consent signals and cookieless measurement pings; these do not use Google Analytics cookies but can include page and referrer information, browser details, timestamps and consent state.

If you allow Google Analytics storage, analytics_storage changes to granted and Google Analytics may set first-party cookies, including _ga and _ga_* names, to distinguish browsers and maintain session state. Advertising storage and ad-related data uses remain denied because this site does not currently use Google advertising tags.

Your choices

Choose whether Google Analytics may use analytics storage in the Cookie settings widget. Keeping analytics cookies off does not stop denied-state cookieless measurement pings from being sent to Google. Essential browser storage remembers your choice so we do not ask you again on every visit. You can reopen Cookie settings at any time using the button at the bottom-left of the page to change or withdraw your choice.

If you withdraw permission after allowing analytics storage, future Google Analytics events will use the denied consent state and will not read or write Google Analytics cookies. The site will attempt to remove Google Analytics cookies visible to this website. You can also clear site data in your browser settings.

Google Analytics and consent

When analytics storage is granted, Google Analytics can use first-party analytics cookies and receive full measurement data. When storage is denied, the Google tag remains loaded but is restricted from reading or writing analytics cookies; it can still send consent signals and cookieless measurement pings for basic measurement and modeling. Google processes that information under its own terms and privacy information.

Vercel Web Analytics, if enabled for this project, is independent of your Google Analytics choice. Consent Mode communicates consent signals to Google; it is not itself a consent banner or legal-compliance guarantee.
